There are many things that you will want to save for a very long time. Photographs are still one of the most popular ways to save memories, and these are things that can last a long time when they are cared for properly. Luckily, that is something that most do with little trouble. When you are choosing someone for taking portrait photos, ask to see some of their work. Many portrait photographers have examples hanging in their place of business so that you can see what they can do. You may get some good ideas that way, and you can decide if you want to stay, or perhaps if someone else would be better suited to do your portrait photography. Though you may think going with discount photography is the way to go, splurge once in a while to get those truly unique and long lasting photos that may end up meaning the most to you in the long run.

Novelty License Plates

Not many people know this about me, but one of my favorite hobbies is collecting novelty license plates. I started a few years ago when my state revised the law to require just one tag per vehicle, and I've been going strong ever since. Now I always have a novelty license plate at the front of my car, with a regulation tag in the back.

What kind of novelty license plates do I collect? Just about anything that looks cool! There are so many different styles and designs out there that I'll never run out of new tags to display. Some of them feature the logos of my favorite pro and college sports teams, while others bear the images of movie stars, rockers, or even cartoon characters.

I like to change the novelty license plate on my car every few weeks or so to keep things interesting. That means I constantly have to be on the lookout for new designs to add to my collection. And even though these products are relatively cheap to begin with, I don't just make purchases indiscriminately without doing any price comparisons. After all, I order at least 5-10 tags every time I shop for them, so my tab can still add up to a substantial number pretty quickly.

As a result, I've learned to purchase my novelty license plates online whenever possible. Don't get me wrong, I still like to buy them as souvenirs when I go on vacation or attend a special event where they're sold, but I can't afford to pay full retail price for every single purchase I make. For most ordinary people, a biography would not be nearly as interesting as the day to day activities of their lives. They may have fun going to the movies, playing amateur baseball with friends, taking that yearly summer vacation, or whatever, but it does not necessarily make for interesting reading. An actors biography, however, is a different kind of thing altogether. Actors biographies – even those of minor or moderately successful actors – make for a fascinating read.

Of course, one of the most interesting things about reading an actors bio is finding out all about all of the other actors he or she worked with. Anyone who has ever played six degrees of Kevin Bacon knows that practically anyone and everyone in Hollywood is connected to everyone else. Understanding the nuances of these connections and the relationships behind them is an interesting reward for anyone who has ever studied the biographies of actors. Sometimes you find out that someone totally unexpected was instrumental in the career of a favorite actor. Other times, you can discover that actors famous for playing off of each other actually could barely be in the same room together without fighting.

Although reading all of the Hollywood gossip in an actors biography is a lot of fun, for me the very best part is to see the extent of the opulence that surrounded an actor in his elite world. Most actors are fairly free with their money, and it can be fascinating to daydream about the things that money buys. Private jets to fly to private islands, mansions up in the Hollywood hills, extravagant parties beyond anything that most of us ever get the chance to attend – you name it and it is there in the actors biography.

And of course, who can forget about the scandals that plague Hollywood decade after decade, year after year. All of us know about some of the recent scandals plaguing Brittney Spears, Tom Cruise, and other strange and crazy actors, but most of us forget about all of the scandals of yesteryear. Blacklists, murder mysteries, drug addictions and overdoses, sensational breakups of fairytale romances – it is all there if you go out and look for it. And many of these actors biographies are written by competent or even talented writers. All in all, it makes for some good reading – particularly during the long and idle hours of summer that so many of us are looking forward to.
