I have always liked Abercrombie Fitch clothes. I guess you'd call me an Abercrombie guy. I am the type of guy they try so hard to portray in clothing magazines. I'm in a fraternity, I lift weights, and I enjoy the brotherly camaraderie of other males as much as the affection of attractive women. I guess you could call me an all-around man's man.

Still, liking Abercrombie Fitch clothing doesn't make me always like Abercrombie Fitch prices. Don't get me wrong – the clothes are well made, and I will pay what I have to when I have to. Nonetheless, there is an alternative that I much prefer: the Abercrombie Fitch outlet.

The great thing about going to an Abercrombie and Fitch outlet store is that you can save a lot of money without sacrificing fashion sense. Abercrombie Fitch outlets – like any other clothing outlets – stock The same clothing at a reduced price. There are many different reasons why they reduce prices at outlet stores. Sometimes, you are buying last year's clothing for a remarkable markdown. Other times, you simply get to save a little bit of money by going to a more central location. Outlets stores are so big and do so much traffic that, on a per item basis, they cost a lot less to operate. Some of these savings are passed on to the consumer.

The Abercrombie Fitch outlet is actually not very close to where I live. I am in a small college town, and as such there isn't really an Abercrombie Fitch store in town. It is about three hours drive – not a small trip by any standard. That is why I get together with my fraternity brothers once a month and take a trip out to the outlet store.

The great thing about the Abercrombie Fitch outlet is that it is not too far from the lake that we like to go to. Usually, if it is a summer day, we will strip off our shirts and play football in the mud. After that, we call up a few local girls we know and go swimming. It is nice to be able to do so many things in a day. It makes the little monthly outing that much more rewarding to be able to share it with some good looking women.

There are times when fashion astounds me. I think back to the vivid colors of the eighties and the matching puffy socks and I cringe, but those are what everyone was wearing then. They seemed okay in those days, but they soon went out of style. One thing that seems to come and go, but never really goes away are the Converse high tops type of sneakers. I can’t say that I like them, but my husband must have them for when he plays out with his band. If you are considering these, there are some things that you must know.

My husband told me that people go out and buy a new pair of Converse high tops and then tie them to their bumper. It’s not a wedding gag, and it’s not a statement about the worth of the shoes, but rather, a way to beat them up. Apparently, it is not a good idea to be wearing new Converse high tops these days. They must appear beaten and dirty or they simply aren’t going to be cool. Some drive around with them tied to the bummer just to beat them up. I don’t understand it, but then again, I’m not a guy either.

What I do know is that there are many who love the Converse high top, and that is evident if you go see a band play. It’s not everyone within an age group that wears them, but there is something about them that musicians seem to love. They have the look right now, and many are wearing them. The pair of Converse high tops that my husband has are looking pretty ratty, and the older they get, the more he loves them. He wanted to get a pair for our daughter, but we simply couldn’t find them in her size.

What we did find for our daughter was a pair of shoes that resemble the Converse high tops without exactly being high top, or Converse for that matter. Though my husband says there is nothing like the real thing, these were all that we could find. As much as I laughed when he bought them, I have to admit that they look really cool on her with some of her outfits, and they were actually a very good choice. However, I did get yelled at the other day when attempting to clean them up. Apparently, even when they aren’t true Converse high tops, the dirty look is still what should be achieved.
