Getting Help From Dream Experts

Interpreting dreams is a pretty difficult art. On the one hand, you want to have some references to look at. Dream dictionaries and dream experts can be a great resources. On the other hand, you want to be sure to give your dream a personal interpretation. Just because a certain symbol has cultural significance does not mean that it means the same thing for you. When interpreting your own dreams, you have to really sit down and listen to yourself to get in touch with your own feelings. Only then will you be able to decipher the secret meanings of your dreams and fantasies.

The time I first consulted a dream expert was in college. I was actually going through some pretty serious psychological trouble at the time, and I thought that I needed some dream analysis. I was having disturbing nightmares every night, and it was affecting my schoolwork. If you don't sleep well you never study well since it is so difficult to concentrate. I did not want to get put on drugs as a solution – I knew that was only a temporary stopgap treatment. That is why I became interested in dream experts.

There are many different kinds of dream experts, and they practice many different kinds of dream analysis. Analyzing your dreams is an art more than a science. The dream experts I am most familiar with are psychologists, since that is what I have experience with.

Basically, it was a lot like the old stereotypes. The dream analyst had me lie down on the couch and talk to him about whatever I wanted. Technically, it didn't have to be dreams. Although he specialized in dreams, I can also talk to him about other things that were bothering me.

One of the interesting things that dream experts do is to help you sort through the details of your own dreams. They look at certain universal themes, but also ask you how you are experiencing them. For example, a dream about your teeth falling out is usually seen as a sign of anxiety over feelings of powerlessness. What this powerlessness means can vary, however. By listening to you talk about your own worries, experts on dreaming can get to the bottom of it and help you figure out what is making you feel powerless. This can take a long time and be a difficult process, but when it works it is definitely worth it. Anything for a good night of sleep!

Using Anger Management Worksheets

Most of us blow our top on occasion. It’s natural to do so, and actually very healthy. If you hold things in for too long, they become bigger problems than they were to begin with, and can do a lot of damage internally and to personal relationships. However, there is a time when you have too short of a fuse, and you are doing the same damage you would do if you were holding things in. It can be hard to see when we are too angry, and when we may hurting those around us. If you fear this is a problem for you, think about using some anger management worksheets to keep track of your outbursts.

You can find anger management worksheets by going through some courses designed to help with managing anger, or you can make some up on your own. You do have to put some thought into what you are about to do though, as some have a hard time writing down when they have problems, even if that is their intention. It can be hard to focus on our faults, so don’t be too hard on yourself if you find that your anger management sheets are not filled out as they should be right away. Give yourself time to truly get comfortable with what you are supposed to be doing.

When filling out anger management worksheets, there are a few important things that you have to include. If you have ones that don’t include everything, add what you need. You should write down each time you blow your top, what triggered you to do so, and what underlying feelings you had. Anger is usually a cover for something else, and if you can figure out what that something else is, you are well on your way to figuring out how to deal with your issues and how to keep your anger in check. If you can find your true issues, and work them out, most of your anger will disappear.

Probably the hardest part of using anger management worksheets is seeing how angry you really are, and how often you spout off. As painful as this can be to see, it helps you in more ways than you can imagine. We see ourselves as a watered down version of what others usually see, and things like anger management worksheets can bring it to our attention in black and white. Use it as a way to improve yourself, your life, and the lives of those you love, not as a reminder of your short comings.

Learning how to deal with anger is a tricky business

It's an unfortunate fact of life in today's society that anger is a major cause of unhappiness and can result in disastrous results. Whether you are the recipient of another's anger, or you're the one dishing it out, anger does no one any good. In either case, learning how to deal with anger is not a simple subject.

Every day, we hear of an incident of 'road rage' or a school shooting. Such things were unheard of just a couple of decades ago. Now they are almost commonplace. Why has the syndrome of anger become so irrational? Is it simply a lack of discipline?

Our fast-paced and stressful environments makes everyone vulnerable to the problems anger produces. There's no simple answer. However, there are some techniques you might employ to diffuse the effects.

Here's a simple example of how to deal with anger you might encounter at the grocery store. You're standing at the deli counter, waiting your turn. “Next, please!” You step up to place your order. Another customer decides that you've cut in front of them and proceeds to lay into you. “I was here first!” You need to understand that this person is venting. It has nothing to do with you. Who knows what has caused their frustration to exceed civility? Your best bet here is to let it go. Returning anger for anger leads nowhere. If you respond with, “I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were here before me”, that frustrated person is mollified and may even feel guilty that they came off on you. Unless the two minutes it costs you to accede places you in a catastrophic bind, what's the problem?

You can probably think of a thousand such examples. People who exhibit such irrational anger are usually frustrated individuals who feel they lack power. Confronting you offers an opportunity for them to gain a feeling of superiority. Let them have it. Maybe that simple act will alleviate some of their frustration.

In such everyday interactions, you might cajole, sympathize or make a good joke to diffuse the anger. If this method of how to deal with anger doesn't work, just dust your feet off and leave it behind.

If you're the one dishing out the anger, think before you speak. Sometimes the best course of action is to be quiet and take a 'time out' just like you recommend to your kids. Think of the consequences of mouthing off. Once you've said your piece, you can't take it back.

If you are the one who doesn't know how to deal with anger and it's a consistent problem, consider taking an anger management course. Self help books on anger management may be another viable alternative. Don't let anger control your life.

Resolving Conflict At Home And At Work

One of the biggest fears we all have is that we can not settle differences with those that we love the most, or with those that we work with each day. When issues come up, compromise is always the best way to go, but it can be hard to know what a good compromise might be. Resolving conflict is something that most deal with on a daily basis, with some issues being bigger and more important than others. Whatever the case, knowing a few things about settling issues that cause conflict can help each and every time something comes up.

When resolving conflict at home, you have to be diplomatic. However, when it comes to parent and child, you can’t compromise when the answer may not be in the best interests of your children, even when they don’t see it that way. You have to resolve conflict in a way that shows you are not a dictator, but that also shows that you have rules and they should be followed. Be sure to point out that these rules are in place for their safety and well being, and that there are just some things that can not be debated.

When you have issues that are more emotional in nature, you have to think about what would work for both sides. Though each might not be totally happy with the results you come up with when resolving conflict, each should get something out of it. Those same principles can be used when you are resolving conflict at work. There may be times when you have to go to the boss or the Human Resources department, but if you can settle these differences on your own, you won’t have to air your problems to those who may see them as a liability to your job.

We are not born with the knowledge we need about resolving conflict. That means this is something that we learn from our parents or our teachers while we are growing up. Even with these lessons, we may need help later on. You can find some great resources on resolving conflict both at home and in the workplace if you look around online or at your local book store. Remember that though all issues are different, the methods you use to resolve your conflicts might all be closely related. In their most basic form, all conflicts mean a difference in education and life experience, and knowing how to deal with that can help with all problems in life.

When we only had letters and telephone to rely on for communication, it was hard to do a people search that would yield results. Now that the Internet is popular, it is much easier to look for those you may have lost touch with since your days in high school or college. There are many different places to search, and that can make finding a place to start hard. Don’t stress about it, but instead, list all of your possible sources and then go through them one by one.

One of the best places to start your people search if you went to school with someone is the many classmate finders out there. Some allow you to join up and see others from your class who have signed up. There are a great many that have found this is the only type of people search that they need. You can even search for those who may have been ahead of you or behind you in school. You might even find information on class reunions and you can see where some of your classmate are now living and what they are doing.

If that type of people search is not what you need, you can always Google. Though Google is not the only search engine out there, it is one of the most popular. If you can’t find someone by name on this one, you can then move on to any of the other ones out there. Each may come up with something different for you, so make sure you check with as many as you can think of if you are coming up empty. If there is something about your friend out there, you’ll find it. Don’t forget to do a blog and news search with your friend’s name as well.

If you are still coming up empty on your people search, don’t give up hope. You should search now again as new information is added to the Internet every second of the day. You might also want to see if you can use a people search to find relatives of your old friend. They might be a great source of information if you contact them. If you are still coming up empty, you may want to check with the Social Security Death Index. It’s not pleasant, but that might be where they turn up at long last. Hopefully, you’ll find nothing there as well.

Retro Michael Jordan Sneakers

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and have been a Bulls basketball fan my entire life. Though things have been pretty dire for the past few years, I at least got to live through the Michael Jordan era when the team won six NBA championships in the 1990s.

As a kid back then, there was nothing I wanted more than a pair of those black and red Michael Jordan sneakers in order to "be like Mike". But they were far too expensive for my parents' budget, so all I could do was look on in envy as my friends wore theirs.

When I was 16 years old, I got an after school job and saved my paychecks for weeks until I was finally able to afford a pair of Michael Jordan shoes of my very own. They were the Air Jordan V model, and I thought they were the coolest things ever! I wore them until they came apart; then I bought another pair, and another. In fact, I've bought Michael Jordan sneakers almost every single year since then.

These days, I mostly buy retro Michael Jordan shoes because I think they look much, much better than the current stuff. Keeping my closet filled with brand-new kicks is definitely a drain on my finances, so I've learned how to shop smarter and stretch my dollars as far as possible. For example, I always look for sales and I always make my purchases online because most web retailers can offer savings of anywhere from 10-30 percent (or more) off the prices I'd have to pay at the mall. The savings really add up over time, which of course allows me to buy even more shoes!

I now have several favorite websites where I can buy authentic Michael Jordan sneakers online, but that hasn't always been the case. When I first started out, I had to sort through lots of shady-looking sites to get to the good stuff. I wasn't really aware of how many places were trying to sell replica shoes for the same price as the real deal, but I learned quickly enough. All it took to ensure a good shopping experience was to spend a few extra minutes checking out the websites I was interested in. I read customer feedback, looked for unbiased reviews, and checked the store's return policy. If everything seemed on the up and up, I went ahead with my order. A little due diligence goes a long way.

If you're looking for affordable Michael Jordan shoes, then I recommend buying them online. That's what I've been doing for years now, and that's why I'm able to have such an extensive collection!

Michael Jordan

It would be incredibly difficult to find someone of any cognitive age who doesn’t know who Michael Jordan happens to be. The man has proven himself to be an idol and an icon to so many different areas of life. Just his name alone symbolizes success and some level of power. You’ll hear arguments about who really is the best basketball player of all time, but no matter who you will vote for, you’ll have to admit that Michael Jordan was one of very best things that ever happened to the world of professional basketball. Gone are the days of the exciting Chicago Bulls games. Gone are the days of watching the infamous Michael Jordan slam dunk yet another ball. However, the days of reminiscing about his greatness will last for years and years to come.

I will never, ever forget watching the Olympics in the summer of 1992. It was the first time that professional basketball players were allowed to even compete in the Olympics. Thus, the original Dream Team was formed, probably the greatest ever formulated, and Michael Jordan carried the American team to an undefeated gold medal. The excitement from those games was simply powerful. I highly doubt that anyone has ever cheered for another Olympics basketball team as much as they cheered in 1992. His popularity simply continued to grow after that accomplishment.

One of the things that people seemed to love about Michael Jordan, and still love, is the fact that he seems like a genuinely down to earth and kind person. Rarely did you ever see him make a face of discontentment or anger. Sure, he had some gambling problems and other issues tended to surface. But, he’s only human and celebrities are picked out for their imperfections a lot faster than the average human being.

Such was a love for Michael Jordan that companies were knocking on his door asking for him to endorse their products. Nike wanted to create a sneaker that was named after him. He appeared in commercials, in magazine advertisements, and on billboards. He gave acting a shot, tried his luck in other sports and overall, simply enjoyed learning about life as much as possible. You cannot say that he hasn’t given almost anything a try. His love for people and sports is undeniable and will always show in anything he does. Even after his father’s tragic death and through some false allegations, his love for life always prevailed. He is truly an amazing individual and has accomplished more in his lifetime than most people can only dream about. His name will go down in history as the greatest basketball player of all time and someone who gave every ounce of himself to whatever it was that had captured his attention.

Aside from Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks is the most famous figure in the American civil rights movement. Unlike Dr. King, however, Rosa Parks was not someone who set out to be a leader. In many ways, that is what makes her so interesting. Nowadays, it seems like every major American city has a Rosa Parks Blvd., but it was not always this way. Back in the days of the Montgomery bus strike, she was reviled by much of mainstream society, and ignored by many other people. Although the civil rights movement was gaining steam, it was by no means universally respected. That is why her refusal to sit in the back of the bus was so courageous. It turned out alright, but she really was taking a risk.

After all, back then people were getting lynched for standing up for their beliefs, or even for just being black. The authorities were so corrupt in the South that there was no telling what they would do. For blacks to strike in Montgomery Alabama took some guts. These were not, however, dyed in the wool activists. Instead, they were ordinary people sick of having their rights abused by a corrupt system.

In this day and age, it is easy to forget about the importance of what Rosa Parks did. Civil rights education and Black history month had become a standard part of curriculum in many schools, and as it has become mainstream, the message has been diluted somewhat. The importance of civil rights leaders is not so much what they did in the past, but what their acts can inspire us to do nowadays. It is important to remember that The struggle is not over. We still live in a world rife with injustice and the things that we do matter in creating a better tomorrow.

Nonetheless, just learning about these leaders is sometimes enough to make us aware of the injustices going on right now. Thinking about the Jim Crow laws, for example, sheds some light on modern day tactics of police profiling. Going back even further, looking at the treatment of Chinese and Irish immigrants reflects on the current issues with Mexican immigrants. But in my opinion, Rosa Parks teaches us one of the most valuable lessons of all – that ordinary people can make a big difference by standing up for what is right when no one else will. Sometimes, all it takes is one voice to inspire other people to do what is right.

Real Estate License

Recently my brother and my sister-in-law moved to North Carolina. My brother was having a hard time finding a job where they lived, and they decided to move closer to where her parents live. Apparently, her father has found my brother a pretty good job. Though my sister-in-law does not have a job there as of yet, she told me that she is planning on getting her real estate license. I was quite surprised to hear her say this, as this was also something I had thought of doing in the past.

I’m not really sure why I wanted to get a real estate license, but perhaps it was because I’d never seem to be happy at any job I ever had. I worked as a mail while putting myself through college, and in the process saw a lot of beautiful homes. Perhaps this is where I found an interest in selling real estate. This job brought out a love of beautiful homes at me that I did not know that I had. I thought perhaps getting a real estate license would be a great way to find a career I would love.

I never ended up getting my real estate license, though I did look into how it is done. I didn’t find as much information as I wanted to, but from my understanding, you may be able to contact a local realtor in your area to take the required classes. They may even help you through your real estate license process, in exchange for working for them for a period of time. They may even help you study, and perhaps give you advice on getting your career moving.

I wish my sister-in-law luck in getting her real estate license. I hope it works out for her, but I can say that I have my doubts. She is not always been a responsible person, and I can’t really say that she is a people person. If you want to get a real estate license and sell homes for a living, you really have to know how to deal with the public. You will be able to sell houses if you cannot sell yourself. She may have a lot of personal issues to work through before she could become successful, but I do hope that she gives it a shot anyway. Perhaps this time she’ll find a career that she can stick with.

The Importance Of Emotional Healing

If you have been through an accident or some other traumatic event, you may think about your physical recovery. That is always the first thing that happens, and is often the most important aspect. However, many forget that there may be some emotional healing that has to take place. You don’t have to be involved in the trauma for this to be a problem, as just viewing something can take an emotional toll on anyone. Someone who has gone through any type of abuse will need to take care of healing the emotional aspect of what they have been through.

For some people, emotional healing can be something they can do on their own. This is not always possible though, as some things are more deeply ingrained in the mind than most think. If it becomes apparent that you are a different person than you were before an event, you should concentrate on how you feel and try to work out those feelings. Emotional healing may take some time, or it can be relatively quick if the event was small in nature. Whatever the case, taking the time to deal with it rather than ignoring those nagging feelings is for the very best in the long run.

Some emotional healing is not going to be very easy. When someone has post traumatic stress syndrome, they probably need the help of a qualified therapist to heal as they should. If not, they could find they are dealing with bouts of depression as well as feeling pessimistic about everything in their lives. This can affect their home and family life, as well as friendships and work relationships. The therapy needed for this type of emotional healing can take some time, but most come out of it feeling like a new person.

For those that want to heal emotionally on their own, they can look around for some great books on the subject. These do not always help, but they can if the right book is found. When it comes to finding a therapist for emotional healing, you may have to take your time finding the right one. Some are lucky and find the right person right away, but you should keep looking until you have found someone that leaves you feeling completely at ease and comfortable in their presence. Without the right therapist, healing can take longer - if it happens at all. If you don’t trust someone, it may never happen.

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for straw cowboy hats. Don't get me wrong – I am not into country western wear. I think cowboy boots look silly, plaid shirts are atrocious, and Toby Keith is a hack. Nevertheless, a good straw cowboy hat looks sharp on almost anyone. Baseball caps hats, despite their popularity, cannot compete. They are all ugly and boring. I don't like any of them. It is a lousy design, and besides they tend not to fit large heads like I have.

I really don't understand the popularity of baseball caps. Between baseball caps and trucker hats, in fact, very few people actually wear a nice looking broad brimmed hat. To me, straw cowboy hats make so much more sense than baseball caps. They block out a lot more sun, for one thing, and besides that they are much more comfortable. Baseball cap hats tend to get sweaty and disgusting, but straw cowboy hats have holes which allow them to be ventilated. Basically, they are just about perfect for everyday wear.

Of course, not every star cowboy hat is the same. I do not like the really tall straw cowboy hats – the so-called 10 gallon hats. I think they look kind of hokey. It is almost like you are wearing a cone on top of your head. There is no point to it, unless you happen to be the Pope. I like straw cowboy hats that are a little bit more understated. Wearing a hat will definitely make you stick out, but you do not have to wear one that is unusually tacky.

Nonetheless, I do have a little bit of weakness for straw farmer hats. I know that almost everyone thinks these are hokey, but I can't get enough of them. I love the battered, weather worn look as well as the round brim. If it were not for the fact that they are much more difficult to find than straw cowboy hats, I would wear them all the time. The problem is that if you are wearing a hat like this, people tend to laugh at you. They assume that you were wearing it as a gag, as opposed to because it looks so darn good. With mens cowboy hats, this is a little bit less of a problem, but it still can happen from time to time. Cowboy wear is still a little bit of a novelty in many areas.

Autistic Behaviors

When most people think about autism behaviors, they immediately remember the movie “Rain Man.” The autistic character in that movie is a pretty low functioning individual. He can not stand to be without a strict routine for even a moment, and can be thrown into panic at the smallest sign of something out of the ordinary. Although autistic behaviors can be that extreme or even worse, many people who suffer from autism have much more subtle patterns that are harder to spot.

Nowadays, there is a big drive to put more autism resources in the hands of parents. The reason is simple: schools and parents often miss the signs for months or even years after the onset of autism. This gives you an idea of how subtle autistic behavior can be. Less severe cases can simply look like social anxiety or even simple awkwardness, and parents often mistakenly assume that the kid will just outgrow it. Although autistic behaviors can be corrected to some degree, autism is not something that you can outgrow. Instead, the focus should be on giving the sufferer the skills he or she needs to successfully cope with the condition.

One of the things that many autistic behaviors have in common is an extremely negative reaction to anything that breaks up routine. Both autistic children and adults need extremely regular schedules to keep them functioning. Any break in routine is likely to cause stress, and sometimes even panic. The severity of this dependence on routine varies from person to person. For low-functioning autistic patients, it is so severe that only an institution can provide the needed structure. More high-functioning folks, by contrast, can live relatively normal lives.

One of the other common autistic behaviors is paralyzing social anxiety. Even making eye contact can be a terrifying experience for someone with autism. Just making small talk is out of the question for many folks. The interesting thing is that many autistics understand human relationships very well. They can watch movies and read books and understand what the characters are going through. They just can not actually engage in those same experiences because of the stress that social interaction puts them under. Even though it is something that still puzzles scientists, techniques have been made to help autistic people learn to interact in social situations with other folks. It is all just a matter of patience, practice, and a caring therapist.

Our entire nation was rocked by the tragic event that occurred on September 11, 2001. And this definitely wasn't in a good way. One of our signature cities was literally brought to its knees and thousands suffered. Most of us stood in awe as the commercial airliner hit the twin towers. What a mess this was to clean up. Probably the only good thing that came from this event was the bonding of New York locals. Our society truly came together in a crisis. The question is; where do we stand now, over 5 years later? We certainly made our feelings clear about the terrorist attacks when we retaliated on Iraq and Afghanistan. America wasn't about to stand by and ignore a major attack with grace and forgiveness. This would only show that we were weak. A great nation can never afford such a reputation. Suddenly we'd be getting attacked left and right. It's imperative to fight back, and stand our ground! If you're not up to speed on this matter, then maybe it's time you checked out a current terrorism article.

Terrorism is forever. There's not a great deal we can do about this. As with anything, it's virtually impossible to stop something altogether. There will always be individuals who do NOT agree. Initially our greatest enemy was Bin Laden. At this point in time there's no doubt about the terrible plans he has for our country and people. In short, he despises us. Well hey, the feeling is mutual. I was happy to read in the last terrorism article posted on the web that Saddam Hussein was hanged. This guy is notorious for his terrorist acts. It's awesome that one of the major players is out of the game at last. Our great nation can sleep well knowing this.

Current events and world news are your connection. If you can't find a recent terrorism article on the web, you can always turn to CNN or Fox world news. The two channels will keep you up-to-date on the war efforts and progress. This is for your own benefit. It's senseless to live in the dark in regards to our nation's progress and actions. I hear plenty of people griping about the war in the Middle East and how we should have never attacked. Clearly they need to read a terrorism article or two. If you understand what these people stand for and what they're set out to do, you wouldn't be so kind and naive. Get the scoop before ranting about peace.

How To Use Free Best Man Speeches

Making the most of free best man speeches can be very difficult. Although there are plenty of free wedding speeches on the Internet, they still require quite a bit of work to make into masterpieces. A good free best man's speech serves as a template for your own speech – it gives you a basic structure and a few standard jokes, but does not include any of the personal touches that make for a really moving toast. You have to be able to customize it yourself.

Even so, I have found that it is often easier to start with free best man speeches and change them than to write my own speech from scratch. Somehow, getting started is always the toughest part of writing, and wedding speeches are no exception. As soon as you have something in front of you, however, it is a lot easier to spot the changes that you need to make and change it into your own speech.

One of the most important things about using free best man speeches is to make them your own. Usually, jokes are easy to translate from one speech to another, and the basic structure can stay the same. A crucial part that you have to add is a personal anecdote or two. Some speeches are based entirely around personal stories, while other ones only use them incidentally. The story should have a humorous note, but also say something deep about the couple, the groom, or your relationship to them. For example, a wedding speech might tell about a humorous incident that occurred sometime in your friendship, or about the stress that the couple went through in planning for the wedding. There are all kinds of options. As long as it is something tasteful – nothing inappropriate for the ears of kids or the parents of the couple – it will work.

Instead of looking at only one free best man sample speech, I recommend consulting several. A lot of the time, free wedding speeches will be strongly marked by the personality of the writer. If you don't vary the language enough, it will sound forced. Looking at several different free best man speeches will allow you to really find your own voice. Pay attention to what you like and what you don't like in the speeches. Don't just try to make something that sounds good – make something that comes from the heart.

What is your take on cops? In my experience chatting with many people over the years, I've come to the conclusion that folks hate police officers. Do you have any idea why this is? Of course you do. It's quite obvious, isn't it? The only time you generally encounter them, unless you're friends with one, is when they pull you over to issue a speeding ticket or traffic violation. Nice, huh? Well, I think police officers get a bad rap. They pass out citations because it's their job, and chances are you deserved it. Most likely you're ticked-off because you got caught, riddin dirty. Okay, I couldn't resist that last part. Pop culture always gets the best of me. Anyway, can you imagine what it would be like to be a Los Angeles police officer? Even for a single day? You'd probably gain a whole new respect for the job and those who do it day-in and day-out.

Just the other day, I was chatting it up with a buddy of mine online, who's a Los Angeles police officer. I don't live in that area, but we met on a martial arts forum and had plenty to talk about. He seems like a great fellow. So, we were talking about his job and I couldn't help but ask about self-defense. Since he practices Wing Chun and Brazilian Ju Jitsu, I wanted to know if he was aloud to use it much on the job. He said he uses self-defense tactics all the time. He also mentioned that LA is not like New York, and you can get away with more aggressive reactions down there. Makes sense to me. If I were a Los Angeles police officer, I definitely wouldn't want to take beatings from thugs all the time and have to react with only words and warnings. If someone is physically aggressive with you, you definitely have the right to defend yourself. After a few stories, it became clear to me that being a Los Angeles police officer is extremely dangerous, and definitely not for everyone.

Don't be so quick to judge! We constantly bash and scowl at police officers, but you should keep in mind that they are the ones keeping criminal element off the streets. Not to mention, they are who you'll call for help if and when you need it. I'll bet once they save your butt, you'll look at Los Angeles police officers and all cops in a totally different way.

Murder Cases

Let’s face it; the media loves to jump all over murder cases. They’ll try to give the public as many gory details as possible and sometimes even give out information that most likely should remain silent. While it is a tragedy when someone decides to take the life of another human being, the media lives for tragedies and knows that everyone wants to know about murder cases. There is a sense of fascination that goes along with a mysterious murder. People panic and take all kinds of actions to keep themselves safer. They want to know all of the details so that they feel that they are completely informed. When the murder cases have no suspects, people tend to really panic. The police will claim to be working overtime to solve the case but people will take extra precautions to avoid being the next victim. It can become very overwhelming.

Sadly, more and more murder cases are becoming unsolved. With crime on the rise and manpower not always being one step ahead of the perpetrators, killers roam the streets each and every day. The longer that murder cases go without suspects and motives, the more likely it is that they will remain unsolved. If you’ve ever watched America’s Most Wanted, John Walsh is constantly trying to track down criminals. Too many times, murderers are profiled and then never captured. We can watch fake murder cases on television and learn how they’re solved. People have complained about some television shows, such as CSI, because it isn’t just entertainment. Sometimes, some potential killers can get some helpful tips on how to cover up their crimes and leave behind little evidence. That is not, of course, the intentions of the show. However, when it is being shown on television, millions of people have that in their heads for a few moments.

Breaking Bad Habits

Whenever I loan someone a pencil out of my desk drawer at work, they hesitate to take it from me. I suppose the teeth marks that I’ve unknowingly chomped into its walls are a turn off for some individuals. I’m not sure why I chew on my pencils, it is a bad habit that I’ve had for as long as I can remember. Most of the time, I’m not even aware of the fact that I’m chewing on it. I suppose that there are worse habits to have, but breaking bad habits is something that I should probably begin to attempt. I have a few other bad habits that I’d like to kick to the curb as well, but it isn’t easy to begin the process of breaking bad habits. For some, saying farewell to a habit is a very simple task. They have enough of commitment and will power to just put it behind them. For others, breaking bad habits is one of the most challenging endeavors that they will ever attempt.

Two of the hardest habits that people find themselves trying to overcome are addictions to alcohol or drugs and smoking. Those addictions may be more than just a bad habit – they may require some professional assistance in breaking them. Other bad habits that people can overcome on their own, but with the want and need to commit and change are things such as: biting their nails, using offensive language, overeating or not exercising. While change typically cannot happen overnight, it is possible to overcome your bad habits with some gradual changes. It is usually not recommended to simply go about breaking bad habits “cold turkey”. People who quit their bad habits cold turkey tend to return to their bad habits a lot more quickly than those who end their bad habits gradually.

The very first step that you must take in breaking bad habits is becoming committed. Wanting to break bad habits is simple. Actually going the distance to break the habits requires commitment. Making yourself aware of how much you’re eating in a day or how many bad words you use in a certain time frame is a great step in the right direction. Until you’re aware of what you’re actually doing and how much you’re doing it, changes can’t be made too easily. Once you know what you want to accomplish and have some goals set – you will find that it is much easier to begin and succeed. Just remember though, that breaking bad habits doesn’t happen overnight. And taking baby steps is the best way to accomplish your goals. Before you know it, your bad habits will be distant memories.

How to have the best family Thanksgiving dinner ever!

Turkey day isn't far off, when families all over America will be celebrating Thanksgiving, the traditional all-American holiday commemorating the arrival of the first emigrants to this country. Those determined souls, traveling on the Mayflower from England, survived only because of the kindness and sharing of knowledge bestowed on them by the Native Americans. The emigrants were unused to the harsh winters of Plymouth Rock and might certainly have starved that first winter in their new home. The Native Americans showed them how to forage for and prepare the new foods, enabling them to survive those first few rough years.

Today, we carry on the tradition of giving thanks for our many blessings, on the third Thursday of November, each year. The family Thanksgiving dinner is a cherished occasion, to eat, drink and be merry! No matter how modest or elaborate your Thanksgiving dinner menu may be, we've got some great ideas on how to make your family Thanksgiving the best ever.

The true spirit of the family Thanksgiving dinner lies in counting our blessings. When we stop to think of all that we have to be grateful for, it becomes apparent that everyone else may not be so fortunate. We all know that there are people who are homeless, who may not be able to enjoy a meal of any kind. There are elderly people without a soul in the world to bring them comfort. As we count our blessings, it becomes incumbent on those of us who have a home and food to spread a little good fortune to those in greater need.

As you're leafing through your Thanksgiving recipes, think about this: that great and tasty Thanksgiving turkey can be found on sale for just several dollars. Here's another suggestion that makes the spirit of the family Thanksgiving come alive. Do you know someone who lives alone, who might be spending Thanksgiving by themselves? Invite them to your home, to share in your Thanksgiving dinner. You'll have more blessings to count!
