Stopping Bad Dog Behaviors.
When properly trained, dogs are some of the best pets imaginable. They are loyal, obedient, intelligent, playful, energetic, and cuddly. They can be depended on as companions, friends, and protectors. When dogs are not properly trained, however, things are much different. Bad dog behaviors such as urinating on the floor, refusing to come when called, barking and growling at strangers, and going up on the furniture can ruin your relationship with your pet.
If you have a big dog, it is especially important that you get rid of bad dog behaviors. Large bad behaving dogs are not just annoying, they are a menace. A little yappie dog can give someone a nasty bite, but a large mastiff or pit bull with an anger problem can actually kill someone! Bad dog behaviors are not only unpleasant and difficult for dog owners – they are often a menace and a hazard to the neighborhood.
Fortunately, there are a lot of things you can do to stop bad dog behavior. The most obvious and the easiest one is to send it to dog obedience school. Obedience training is no joke – it works every time. Dog training is both a science and an art. It has been practiced for thousands of years, and the people who do it are very good. They can take difficult dogs and turn them into mellow, respectful, and happy pets in just a few weeks.
Many people decide to treat bad dog behaviors on their own. There are a variety of reasons for this. Sometimes, people just don't want to pay for pet school. Other times, the reason is more ideological. Many dog owners believe that it is better to train your dog yourself. The training process itself can deepen the relationship between you and your dog.
Of course, before you can train your dog, you have to train yourself to a certain extent. Bad dog behaviors are almost always The result of owners who don't understand canine psychology. Many owners reinforced bad dog behaviors without even thinking about it. Some owners pay attention to dogs who bark, teaching them that this is an acceptable way to get attention. Others go too easy on them when they refuse to be paper trained. A dog training book is a necessity for anyone who wants to get rid of bad dog behavior. It will teach you how to methodically address every aspect of your dog's disobedience. The result will be a happier dog and a happier owner.
We live in a very complex and complicated world. As human beings we often neglect to remember that we aren’t the only inhabitants on this planet. There are many other creatures that we share our space with and they come in all different shapes and sizes. Animals are fascinating and beautiful to watch. Unfortunately as long as we continue to pollute the earth, we are creating an unsafe environment for them. There are many endangered species at the moment. Some are at risk of dying out within the next ten years. We can change that though.
Many charities exist to help protect these animals. They work hard to protect and conserve the well-being of these creatures. They make sure that the money that you donate goes towards plenty of research for the conservation of these endangered animals. Without the help of these charities, plenty of species would have died off by now and would only be a memory. Thankfully, those endangered species are still alive today.
Kids learn a lot about animals that are at risk of becoming extinct in schools, but they don’t really learn how to save them. Now, under parental supervision, kids can donate their allowance or whatever money they have to foundations that focus on endangered species and can share with their class that they actually made a difference. Kids also learn in school what harms these animals, such as construction by us humans as we tear apart the habitat they live in to create huge condominiums. Children can now know that this is wrong and they’ll grow up to know how to put a stop to such madness to save the animals that have no voice.
It is important that we take care of the world we live in, not only for our sake, but for the creatures as well. It is wrong to dump waste into the ocean, since many creatures call that home. We wouldn’t appreciate someone dumping waste into our home and we are so helpless at cleaning it, so we should not do that to them. The best way to take care of endangered species is to either donate or volunteer. When there are oil spills, it’s best to get out there and help all that you can. Ducks and other creatures need help getting the oil out of their wings so they can fly once again.
We live in a beautiful world, but we are killing it slowly. It’s time to save all of the endangered species we can and to make sure that none of them become extinct.
Dog Names
when I took my kids to adopt a pet, I was expecting things to be difficult. To my surprise, however, everything went pretty easy at first. Everyone wanted a dog, and within a few minutes of haggling, we had decided on the perfect one in the pound. We all agreed on a little Dalmatian pup that was absolutely precious. It was only a few weeks old, and looked to be very happy and healthy. We got the dog home and my kids couldn't have been more delighted. That is, until we got around to picking dog names.
We never really thought about how to name the dog, and we were left struggling. For a while, it was a lot of fun. We exchanged different dog names back and forth and talked about which ones would be better. My son wanted a tough dog name like Spike or Butch, while my youngest daughter was obsessed with the name Genevieve. My wife had her own opinion, and I had mine. Soon it became clear that no one was going to budge. It seemed like we would be contemplating pet names forever.
A lot of families would have continued to fight it out forever until everyone gave in to one person. In my family, however, we always do things in a kind of strange way. In this case, we decided that the dog would have several names. Each of us would be able to pick out his or her favorite dog name and refer to the dog by that. We thought that, if we all spent enough time around the dog, he would learn to respond to all of the names. We figured that, at the very least, it would be a good experiment.
It worked like a charm. I don't know if anyone in the scientific community has ever done any research on the response of canines to dog names, but if you know anyone like that you should have him or her talk to me. There is living proof in my living room that a dog can be trained to respond effortlessly to five or six different names. Although no one is completely satisfied with all of the pet names, everyone is satisfied with at least one of them. And seeing my family happy always gives me a lot of joy. It never pays to fight when you can come to an agreeable solution for everyone. That's the way I see it anyway.
