Many kids can’t wait until they get out of elementary school. I remember moving up to the junior high and I really felt grown up because our teachers suddenly let us use pens. This was an exciting time in my life but now that I’m and adult I write almost exclusively with a Pentel mechanical pencil.

You probably won’t be surprised to discover that the Pentel mechanical pencil is a little more expensive than other brands. There is good reason for the price difference. You will find that the item actually saves you time and money. It is a sound investment especially considering that the price difference is relatively small.

There is good reason for my choice. Pens have never been kind to me. They often leak and I really don’t like the idea of getting too attached to anything I put down on paper. The Pentel mechanical pencil is the idea writing tool for someone like me. I love editing my writing without mess.

Why not compose on the computer? I can’t write creatively on the machine. I have trouble getting my thoughts together by using the computer. We use different areas of the brain when we compose by hand than we do when we compose on the keyboard. I find that my most creative writing has to be written out by hand and with a Pentel mechanical pencil.

Now you may be wondering why any other pencil won’t do. I hate to seem too fussy. I will use other writing instruments in a pinch but I often draw while I write. It helps to get me inspired. Regular pencils need to be sharpened too frequently and other mechanical pencils tend to run out quickly.

Changing the lead can be a painful process, which you know if you have had to do it before. I would prefer to just get another writing instrument rather than trying to replace the fragile lead. The Pentel mechanical pencil has seemingly endless lead and the insert needs to be replaced less frequently.

I spend no time sharpening and less time changing lead inserts when I use the Pentel mechanical pencil. I can’t express how much this helps me with my creative writing and sketching projects. One of the most valuable aspects of the Pentel mechanical pencil is the time that it saves the user.

Now I have more time to concentrate on my characters and story plot. I don’t have to stop the flow to change lead and I’m not distracted by snapping lead inserts, either. The durable Pentel mechanical pencil allows me to think less about my writing instrument and more about my writing.
